Wilkins Kennedy and CW Fellowes merge


Top 25 chartered accountancy and business advisory firm Wilkins Kennedy LLP and chartered accountancy firm CW Fellowes have merged as of November 8


The merged entity will be known as Wilkins Kennedy and as a result of the merger Wilkins Kennedy has gained two new offices in the Hampshire region, Southampton and Portsmouth, bringing the total number of UK offices to 15.


A total of nine directors and 70 staff from CW Fellowes have joined Wilkins Kennedy, bringing the staff total to over 500 employees. One of the largest mergers in Wilkins Kennedy’s 130-year history, this also increases the tax, professional services and outsourcing departments of the firm.

Thames Valley Berkshire Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) is looking to recruit highly experienced and credible private-sector business representatives to bring experience and passion to the economic growth agenda for the sub-region, writes Steve Lamb, chairman for Thames Valley Berkshire LEP


If you have experience of working in Thames Valley Berkshire in the commercial business sector and you are a team player with board level skills and would like to make a difference, the LEP would like to hear from you.


Thames Valley Berkshire has a thriving economy, with GVA of over £27 billion and the highest concentration of knowledge- based businesses in the UK. It is home to 854,000 people and 42,000 businesses; well over half of its population is of working age and 73% of residents live and work here. It is the largest economy outside greater London in the UK.


LEPs are central to the Government’s approach to driving economic growth locally; being a senior business representative on the LEP Forum (board) or Executive (management committee) brings a range of responsibilities, not least of which is to

represent the sub-region and influence policies and interventions that create growth and real jobs. The LEP for Thames Valley Berkshire brings together senior representatives from the business, public, education and community sectors to lay the foundations for and determine the direction of the local and national economy.


The LEP has performed extremely well to date, having secured significant funding from government including £15 million capital as part of its Growing Places Fund and commitment of £500m to deliver Western Rail Access to Heathrow. As our responsibility grows it is essential that we continue to strengthen our team through the involvement of new business leaders.


Appointments will be for a minimum of two years (maximum four years; all under review) with an estimated commitment of at least two days per month.
