New leader at Overbury’s Bracknell office

Andrew Boyle officially takes over from Paul Brazier on January 1, 2014 as divisional director of the southern operations of leading UK fit-out and refurbishment specialist Overbury

From its Bracknell office the 54-strong southern team delivers award-winning workplaces to businesses throughout the Thames Valley and the south of England. The Bracknell team recently celebrated winning the national category for Fit-Out of a Workplace at the British Council for Offices (BCO) awards 2013 for the 9,300m2 Astellas HQ fit out in Chertsey.

Boyle has worked for Overbury for the past 17 years, giving him a deep insight into the region’s economic and commercial trends. With over 30 years in the construction industry he is well equipped to manage the successful and profitable southern division.

Overbury managing director Chris Booth commented: “A well respected member of the team, Andrew is a strong natural leader with the knowledge and commercial drive needed to take this prosperous division forward.”

Commenting on his appointment Boyle said: “After 17 years with the Bracknell team I am delighted to take up this new challenge. Paul hands over a successful legacy and a team of talented, committed and passionate

Holiday Lettings, a subsidiary of TripAdvisor, has signed for office space at the Hinshelwood building in Oxford Science Park. National commercial property consultancy Lambert Smith Hampton (LSH) acted on behalf of TripAdvisor to complete what is Oxford’s largest office letting of 2013.

TripAdvisor has taken assignment of the lease for the entire 31,500 sq ft building. Hewlett Packard is the vendor and was represented by LSH and CBRE.

LSH was instructed in August 2013 to find new office space for TripAdvisor in the Oxford and South Oxfordshire market up to 35,000 sq ft, as part of the company’s wider expansion plans. Holiday Lettings office space is relocating from its current offices in Summertown, Oxford.

Situated to the south east of Oxford and accessed from the A4074 Henley Road, Oxford Science Park offers an attractive landscaped environment together with on- site facilities including a children’s crèche

Kevin Wood of LSH’s Oxford office said: “This is a great move for TripAdvisor. Our in-depth knowledge of Oxfordshire’s commercial property market and experience in the corporate real estate sector were key components that helped us find them the perfect office space. We have worked really closely with TripAdvisor’s US-based property adviser, Columbia Group Realty, to smoothly complete this transaction.

“We have been retained by TripAdvisor to manage and procure the fit-out at Hinshelwood and there are exciting plans in the pipeline as the intention is to create a

vibrant and modern workplace in which its creative staff can really flourish.

“The LSH Thames Valley agency team has acquired over 1 million sq ft for international companies in the region over the past few years.”

individuals that I am privileged to lead. Together we will ensure that Overbury is the fit-out contractor of choice in our region.”

Former divisional director Paul Brazier hands over the role to take up a new position as commercial director on the Morgan Sindall fit out group board. Under his guidance the southern division has become one of the most productive teams in the Overbury business.

Brazier commented: “Our team has always valued strong relationships with our consultants, suppliers and clients. Andrew has been a driving force in making this part of our ethos. I’m confident that the southern division will go from strength to strength under his stewardship”.

Boyle concluded: “With the economy at a turning point and with Crossrail’s imminent arrival in Slough we could be seeing a period of real opportunity for the Thames Valley and the south of England. Although the rise of locations like Old Street ‘Silicon Roundabout’ is challenging the region’s UK tech hub dominance, the area is attracting new business thanks to excellent transport
