TRAINERS » Client Training 7 TIPS

to Keep Clients Focused And Motivated During the Holidays

BY CLAUDIU POPA T

o carry your clients through the demanding and often stressful holiday season, keep workouts light, fun and pro- ductive. Here are some tips to

help accomplish this.

1. Keep in touch Everyone likes to feel special, and

your clients are no exception. Whether you teach classes or offer one-on-one training, keep in touch with interest- ing articles, relevant social network- ing posts and helpful, non-promotion- al emails.

2. Keep them on their toes Is it time to change the routine? Do

it anyway. With the coming holidays, you’ll need a new, enjoyable but flex- ible routine to keep clients energized and relaxed.

3. Supplement their lifestyles Provide nutrition tips plus rest and

safety pointers. They’ll post them on their fridge and think of you more often!

4. Feed them gadgets Scour the internet for interest-

ing apps and computer programs. Pregnancy calendars, calorie coun- ters and more are out there begging to be downloaded, so send a few links. Be sure the software is safe and easy to use.

5. Rotate the team Take the opportunity to build re-

lationships between your clients and other members of your team, especial- ly if the teammates offer complemen- tary services.

6. Give them metrics Feed your clients data. It’s

calorie-free, and it lets them see that they’re making progress. Baseline their performances, measure their prog- ress and identify sticky points in their workouts and their overall perfor- mance. The more high-quality infor- mation the better. Quantify it!

7. Deals, deals, deals There’s no better time than the win-

ter holidays to offer deals for clients’ friends and families. Be the first person they think of at New Year’s resolution time, and benefit from the low cost of acquisition. FBC
