2013 has been an extra special year for the community of Dunblane. The High Street has changed dramatically with lots of new shops, cafes and restaurants to try and of course our very own Wimbledon Champion has helped to drive people into the town centre hoping for a photo at the gold postbox.
Inspired by the jubilant mood local shopkeepers,
traders and businesses are
working together to host a Discover Dunblane this Christmas Shopping Extravaganza in the Town Centre on the evening of Thursday 28th November 2013. They want to showcase all the local town has to offer by opening late until 9pm making sure you and your family kick off the festive season in style!
The event will start in spectacular style as Dunblane Cathedral rings in Santa’s Sleigh being pulled through the high street by his reindeer (kindly sponsored by FES Group). Santa will then take pride of place in his grotto where children can visit him and post their letters through a specially made gold post box. As well as Santa’s Reindeer we’ll also have Andy Murray’s namesake “Murray” the reindeer calf (born in 2012 and named in honour of Andy Murray’s achievements) for children to visit and enjoy a photo opportunity in a display pen on the high street.
There will be lots to see with live music in 6
the form of Bell Ringers, Carol Singers, Choirs and Bands to welcome everyone into the town centre from 5pm. The High Street will be closed off for the evening and there will be a full programme of activities going on all including music, singers and many of Santa’s little helpers.
Restaurants & bars will be open and there will be hot food available in the shape of succulent roasts together with mulled wine to get everyone in the spirit. Local shops will have exclusive special offers and promotions available only on the night for Christmas shoppers. With a great choice of independent retailers whatever is on your shopping
list...Toys, Gifts, Ladies and Gents Fashions, Cosmetics, Flowers, Food or Wine you’ll be able solve all your Christmas shopping needs in one evening.
There is free parking available on the Dual Carriageway and at the Millrow & Haining Car Parks or you can travel by train into the heart of Dunblane to enjoy all the festivities.
