NOBLE FIR
Even though the Noble fi r can be quite pricey it’s short, stiff lower branches are great for making wreaths and garlands. Other features include thick, broad needles with a recognisable silver underside, which hold well and are perfect for holding ornaments. USUALLY PRICED BETWEEN £30 AND £50.

The eye-catching blue tinge of the Blue spruce’s foliage will make an impression in any room and unlike other spruces it retains it’s needles well. It’s only downfall is fi nding one to buy. Other than its distinctive shape, appealing traits of the Scots pine also include a strong pine smell and good needle retention. However, it’s long, twisted needles make it tricky to hang decorations on. USUALLY PRICED BETWEEN £25 AND £35.

The Nordmann fi r’s soft foliage and great needle retention has made it Britain’s most popular Christmas tree. It is easily recognisable by its cone shape, silvery bark and long, glossy, dark green needles with a white stripe on the underside. The best way to keep it fresh for a long time is by keeping the reservoir in the Christmas tree stand topped up with water. USUALLY PRICED BETWEEN £35 AND £40.
