to the following Newton and Dunblane Primary Seven boys: Scott Gracie, David Clark, Ross Pringle, Matthew Anderson and Greg Johnston who all took part
Brigade Kilbryde Hike in June, a gruelling two day hike round the area of East Kilbride and Eaglesham.
We understand that the boys had to navigate and hike through numerous sections of rough terrain
and also perform ‘incidents’, which were either physical or mental challenges. On the fi rst day they covered 20 miles over 11 hours and then had to make their own dinner before camping overnight. The second day involved an early rise and another 12 miles before fi nishing in Eaglesham.
Out of 70 teams that took part (between P.7 and S. 6) from all over Scotland, only about 30 completed the hike. Tenacity, humour and teamwork saw them through an amazing challenge. Well done to you all!
