Hello & welcome to the September issue of theWire
Well what a summer!
We’ve had sunshine, a royal baby and probably most excitingly for Dunblane... a Wimbledon win! Well done Andy Murray! I think the whole town must have celebrated and what a match.... We will cherish our lovely gold postbox even more now and don’t forget to go to the Post Office for the special edition stamps.
As I’m writing this the children go back to school next week, NEXT week! Where did the last seven weeks go??? Is it just me? It’s hard to believe how quickly time goes by, and I don’t think it’s just my age, both of my children think it’s flown by too! It has been lovely though and I’m not really ready for them to go back. Didn’t think I’d be saying that after so many weeks!
The holidays saw another fabulous Show in a Week at the Dunblane Centre.
I hope you went to see the The King and I, it is such an
amazing achievement by all the children in it, learning everything in just one week. The costumes and set were beautifully colourful and it probably had the longest march of the Siamese children in a production EVER with 117 children, some as young as 4! Pantomime next and Christmas... did I really say that??
This month life returns to a more normal routine. Local clubs and meetings resume so check the What’s On guide to see when everything starts. Remember if you are organising an event, get in touch so we can let everyone else know to come along and support you. Deadline for the October issue is Friday 13th September.
The latest magazine is also available to read online. Extra copies can be found at the Dunblane Centre and at local libraries and shops.
