I’ve taken some time out to talk to Maggie Gorman Bell who has just returned to Dunblane after a spell in the USA. Maggie was the owner of the interiors shop ‘Adorn’ in Auchterarder before leaving for the States. Never one to sit still I was keen to discover what her plan was now she was back on home territory.
Q: Hi Maggie! Great to see you back in Dunblane again. What have you been doing since Adorn? A: Thanks, it’s great to be home again. We’ve been in the States for three years. My husband was moved out there for a few years so we all went with him. Including the dog!
Q : So, now you’re back, what’s the plan? A: While I was in the States I worked as an Interior Consultant so now I’m back I will be continuing with the business with the help of my business partner Kirsty Muir.
Q: An Interior Consultant? What’s that? A: An Interior Consultant deals with anything relating to the home from a simple colour consultation to turn-key solutions for new build homes. Any advice or help relating to your home décor or layout. How many times have you had ten colour testers on your wall and still couldn’t decide which one to go for? We can work with you to provide advice on which colour would work best in your room.

It also includes Home Staging which is the process of taking a property for sale and presenting ready for the market. Staging looks at the flow of the property, the kerb appeal, how the space is utilised and whether the selling points have been displayed clearly.
