I Beginners can start in Drishtiq’s

Monday alignment classes, where they learn basic yoga poses and can later progress to more advanced classes. From prenatal classes to mommy and baby tummy classes to moonlight yin classes, Vetter sees a great calming and connect- ing effect in her clients. Matching Drishtiq’s class variety

are multiple membership options to suit different interests and budgets. There is pay-as-you-go at a drop-in rate, and for new students, there’s a one-week unlimited pass. Bulk packages of five and 10 classes are available, as well. Accord- ing to Carpenter, the most popular is the unlimited monthly pass. She says, “We make it affordable, especially for some- one that wants a focused yoga practice to balance a traditional gym membership and other fitness pursuits.” In her journey from Ohio to Florida

and back, Vetter has certainly taken to heart the quote by the esteemed yoga master Amrit Desai: “If it doesn’t change your life, then it isn’t yoga.”

t’s Yoga is offering a yoga teacher training program beginning September 6 that meets on weekends over a nine-month period. Learning locally from one of Cincinnati’s most experi- enced teacher trainers, most graduates of this program find work quickly. Trainees learn to teach multiple styles of yoga, including ashtanga, Vinyasa, hatha and yin yoga. They learn the anatomy, asana biomechanics, postural adjustment and alignment techniques, as well as how to teach meditation and pranayama. The course also includes an introduction to yoga philosophy, history and Sanskrit—the language of yoga. It’s Yoga maintains one of the longest-running yoga teacher training programs in Cincinnati and was the first in the city to be recognized by the Yoga Alliance.

Location: 346 Ludlow Ave., Clifton. For more information, call 513-324-4654 or email ItsYogaMike@earthlink.net. Bonus: mention Natural Awakenings and receive $50 off tuition. See ad, page 17.
