Crowds brave the rain to honour town’s wartime heroes


A LARGE crowd braved the pouring rain to attend the Remembrance Day parade and service in Snodland. The 17th Tonbridge Scout


and Guide Band led the pa- rade through the town from Holmesdale Technology Col- lege to the cemetery. They were accompanied


by the MOTHS, Army cadets, Scouts, Beavers, Cubs, Brownies, police, St John Ambulance, borough and town councillors and representatives of the Snod- land Partnership and politi- cal parties. The service was led by


Avrel Cole (Salvation Army), Fr Peter Soper (Catholic Church), Rev Hugh Broad- bent and Derek Tompsett (All Saints and Christ Church.)
