in curator’s fourth book ANDREW Ashbee, the curator of Snodland Museum and chairman of the historical soci- ety, is publishing a book of the photographs of Alfred Ham- brook called “Mid-Kent Through Time.” Hambrook took on the shop in


the High Street, now called the Gift and Card Gallery, in 1901 and produced hundreds of pho- tographs and postcards fromhis works in May Street. Andrew, who has had three


other books published, said: “It was unfortunate that all his plates were destroyed after his death, because they covered a whole floor – and there was not then the interest in them which exists today. “Snodland Historical Society


is making an effort to collect what it can of Hambrook’s work, particularly the post- cards, and it is hoped that one
