Hundreds remember our heroes
HUNDREDS of people turned out in ap- palling weather at services throughout the Malling area to honour those who gave their lives in conflict and those who are still fighting for their country. At Aylesford Royal British Legion vil-

STAFF and pupils at Kings Hill School have been sporting special poppies this year, thanks to the handiwork of a talented 10-year-old. Year 6 pupil Grace Pattison wanted to do something different to raise money for the Remembrance appeal so she made 45 beautiful poppies to sell at school. Her efforts raised about £100 which she is send- ing to the Poppy Appeal. Grace said: “I wanted to raise money for the Poppy Appeal and de- cided to make my own poppies and
sell them to staff and pupils at my school. “Everyone loved them and I kept having to make more.” Grace was helped by her friend, JasmineWarren, who is also 10. Headteacher Kerry Thomas said:
“At school we are all very proud of our poppies and will be wearing them way beyond Remembrance Day.
