Anti-gravity yoga is exciting new way to keep fit
COMBINING fun and fitness, anti-gravity yoga has proved increasingly popular in the US, featuring in pop videos and receiving high-profile celebrity endorsements from the likes of Mariah Carey and Pink. The technique is an exciting new way to keep fit as it
incorporates strength, flexibility and cardio workout, together with a lot of laughter and the ability for everyone to achieve inversions (upside down poses). Anti-gravity yoga uses soft hammocks which are suspended
from the ceiling and are so strong that they could support the weight of a baby elephant. The hammock supports you as your instructor guides you
into suspension techniques. However, unlike some circus acts, you are just off the
ground so there is no danger. By suspending in the hammock, your body is fully
supported but at the same time you are decompressing the spine and aligning the body from head to toe. More importantly, though, it is fun. At classes like those
