Hall of Fame Team:

See Jane Run See Jane Run began in the mid-eighties in Toronto as

a group of women who had been playing with Toronto Darkside team members socially and in a co-ed league in the city and wanted to establish a women’s team to compete in Canada and Internationally. The team travelled to Colchester England and Leuven Belgium as two of their first major international events. They stand out because of their accomplishments and dominance and their instrumental place in Canadian Ultimate history. The women were dedicated to improving their play and strengthening their team, utilizing new offensive and defensive strategies. Each of the women brought unique skills to the team and the result was an impressive blend of power, finesse, endurance, and speed. Above all, the team was a group of good friends who enjoyed playing together and had a lot of fun.

TEAM PERFORMANCE See Jane Run was THE dominant team of its time. This group of

women set the bar for competitive women’s ultimate in Canada and forced other teams to become better in order to compete. The team was known as dominant in Canada and throughout the US Northeast as it was consistently competitive in UPA Tournaments. See Jane Run was the role model for strong teams to follow – using offensive and defensive strategies as opposed to simply opportunistic play; improving conditioning through use of a professional trainer; and demonstrating that intense, hard play can be supreme fun.

SERVICE Within Toronto, See Jane Run was a role model for other

women’s teams and developing strong female athletes on Club and Toronto Ultimate Club recreational teams. Each of the SRJ team members played on a TUC club team and was instrumental in developing and maintaining a strong co-ed league in the city.
