SPIRIT OF THE GAME AWARD Hydro Hydro, Quebec’s Provincial Junior Open


team, began its selections in the winter of 2012. It took all the way until March to come up with its final roster. From the first tournament, the primary focus of the team was cohesion both on the field and off the field. As the season continued, the team


year team completed its inaugural year by working their way to the finals supported by many fans and fellow athletes. Despite their lost in the final, the players of Hydro were surrounded by junior players from across Canada who wanted to show their support creating a powerful and emotional moment that few players have the chance to experience. While they did not win the game on the score board, they did walk away winning the Spirit of the Game title. Hydro proves that it is possible to play at the highest level and still maintain the spirit


continued to grow, always maintaining the spirit of sport and respect for the opponent. At the 2012 CUC, this first

respect and spirit is equally as impressive. The future is indeed bright for our sport and the athletes who play it.
