Oban & Lorn

It’s always so rewarding after a hard week’s work to fi nd a relaxing retreat which not only allows me to be pampered with friends, but has something to keep the boys out of mischief! Such a place can be found only ten minutes drive from Oban – the Isle of Eriska. Driv- ing over the rumbling bridge onto Eriska, I feel like I am in another world away from the busyness of the town, and the knowledge we are in for a treat every time we draw into the car park. My fi rst port of call is the Spa as I prepare to enjoy a day of relaxa- tion and recovery with a Stress Recovery Package along with some female friends, whilst we leave the boys to it as they prepare to challenge each other over a round of golf. They fi rst of all, head over to the driving range to brush up on their “skills” so as not to embarrass themselves too much as they make their way around the course. Following our fi rst round of treatments and relaxation in the sauna and steam room, we meet up with the boys for lunch in the Veranda restaurant, upstairs in the Stables Spa, which conveniently opens between 12.30 and 2pm for Golfers who fancy a spot to eat and those taking advantage of the Spa facilities. This gives myself and the girls a chance to admire the beautiful scenery from the balcony of the Veranda Restaurant which the Golfers get to marvel over throughout the day! After a relaxing lunch in good company, the boys set off for a friend-

ly game of badminton in the sports hall while we return to being pampered and experience the swimming pool and jacuzzi. Often we even stay on for dinner in the restaurant in the main house to truly complete the Eriska Experience – one experience which I just can’t help but share!
