2012 WorldStar Student Awards O


ver 229 packages were submitted from 17 countries around the world to compete in the World Packaging Organisation's (WPO) international packaging design competition for students. Through publicity of WPO's global presence, student winners are given the opportunity to gain professional acknowledgement and entrance into a career as a packaging professional.


WorldStar Student judging was held on


Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at McCormick Place during Pack Expo.


Judging is based on :- Innovation – Sales appeal/graphics in the target country - Sustainability aspects relative to the target country - Ease of processing/manufacturing - fit for purpose and complies with the functions of packaging - Overall impression. The top three highest scoring entries are named WorldStar Student Winner. The 2012 winners can be seen below. The next ten


highest scores receive a WorldStar Student Certificate of Merit; to view to go http://www.iopp.org/i4a/pages/index.cfm?pa geid=3214 A WorldStar Student Certificate of Recognition will be given to the remaining entries with a minimum score of 50% of the overall marks.


Awards winners were recognized during the U.S. Student Packaging Jamboree at Michigan State University held March 21-23, 2013. 
