This research investigated patterns of authorship in the top three journals. As the Journal of Research in Science Teaching focuses on only one specific field within Education, it was omitted for the purposes of this study. The pool of authors for each of the 10 years of the decade 2001-2010 was determined, and weighed with the impact factor of the journal.
FINDINGS
The total number of authors, as per country where author is located, of articles published in the journals Educational Researcher, Review of Educational Research and Learning and Instruction are presented in table 1.
