The East Region Libraries host lively book discussions at Canyon Hills branch on the last Tuesday of the month, and at East Anaheim branch on the last Thursday of each month. Both sessions are from noon to 1:00pm; bring your lunch and we’ll provide dessert and beverages. Everyone is invited to participate; visit either branch or the library’s website for a list of upcoming titles to be discussed. Extra copies of books are available for lending on a first-come, first-served basis at the branches, thanks to the generosity of the Friends of the Canyon Hills Library. Some titles are even available for free downloading via the library website!
Sunkist Book Chat
This Book Chat group has a ten year history. We meet once a month at the Sunkist Branch Library at 1:00pm, usually on the last Thursday of the month (holidays excepted) to discuss the books that we have read or listened to over the past month. We read all types of narratives: fiction, mysteries, sci-fi, biographies and histories. Though our active members number between 5 and 10, we have a total membership of approximately 70 people from 4 different states. Some readers participate by sending their reviews to
jsimon@anaheim.net who compiles them into a newsletter that is sent to all members and posted on our library’s website. Join with us at our next meeting for cookies, coffee and conversation. Let us know the books that you’ve read and introduce us to new authors.
Online Readers Group 42
Are you looking for a Readers Group to join? Does your busy schedule mean you need to be able to share the books you’ve read any time of the day or night? Are you an avid reader who’d like to read “outside your comfort zone”? If you answered Yes to these three questions, then the online, Eclectic Readers group may be just right for you. Every month, each of us choose and read different books, based on the month’s topic. Sometimes it’s a fiction genre like, fantasy, mystery or adventure. Other times the topic is content-related like, books about food, nature, different cultures, etc. We share and discuss our reading online around the third Saturday of each month, but you can post your report anytime, any day, 24/7.
