Your Library Has So Much More Than Just Books . . .

Media Collections Did you miss some of the Oscar-nominated films? Want to watch again all your favorite actor’s works or some classics from days gone by? Hate paying $20 for a movie and refreshments

in the theatre? Make your own popcorn and check out your favorite movies at the library. All Anaheim Public Libraries have DVD and music CD collections, including current, new- release titles that rent for just $2 for two days (older titles are only $1 for two days). Canyon Hills and Central branches also have BluRays®. These collections are self-sustaining

(no tax dollars used for purchase) so each rental helps us grow the collection, and all titles are searchable in the online catalog at library.anaheim.net.

AWE Stations All Anaheim Public Libraries have Early Literacy Stations also known as AWE (Advanced Work Stations in Education) computers. These stations deliver age-appropriate educational content with over 50 programs with 500 activities for early learners. The Early Literacy Station covers the seven curriculum areas, including reading, writing, phonics, math and problem solving, science, social studies, arts and music. AWE’s are designed for children ages 2-8. They require no Internet connection, so they are safe and secure. The Early Literacy Stations provide only positive reinforcement, they are a fun and effective way to teach children and help with kindergarten readiness. They also foster the love of reading, math and science that will stay with them for years to come. Please go to an Anaheim Library near you and try one out. They are funded in part by these Anaheim Public Library support groups: Anaheim Public Library Foundation, Friends of the Anaheim Public Library, Friends of the Canyon Hills Library, and Kiwanis Club of Greater Anaheim.
