“Springfield College changed my life. When I first enrolled in the School of Human Services, I had more than 20 years of experience with nonprofit organizations—primarily with youth-serving agencies. What I did not have was a degree, and therefore, was not promotable in my career.”
It wasn’t long after enrolling in the undergraduate program at Springfield College that Mike discovered a thirst for learning. He earned both a bachelor’s and master’s in human services, and went on to complete his Ph.D.
“The higher levels of education gave me more career opportunities. After earning my master’s degree, I was offered a leadership position with The First Tee, a division of the World Golf Foundation.”
The First Tee provides learning facilities and educational programs for young people that promote character development and life-enhancing values through the game of golf. Mike’s role is to develop relationships in Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, and Florida.
“None of this would have been possible without the School of Human Services, and without the inspiration and guidance I received from so many individuals at the School.”
“I am proud to still be connected with the School as an adjunct in the bachelor’s, master’s, and the executive master’s programs. I am also the chairperson for the Tampa Bay Campus community advisory board, which allows me to stay involved and give back to others.”
