Spring Colour, Hole Park Gardens, Rolvenden The gardens will open earlier than usual for the 2013 season, allowing visitors to enjoy the early spring colour in the gardens and woodlands from the likes of daffodils, magnolia and camellia. The gardens manage to combine formalised gardens with natural woodland. They cover some 15 acres and were developed, laid out and planted by Colonel Barham, the great-grandfather of the present owner, in the years between the two world wars. Open daily between 11am and 6pm from March 23 to May 31.


March 26 – April 26


Transitions Exhibition, Knole House, Sevenoaks Textile artist Claire Buckley displays her bright and beautiful tapestry works in the Orangery, alongside a display on how Knole tapestries are cared for and a chance to see the new History of Knole textile, created by the Textile Group Sevenoaks, laid out in the Great Hall. Free exhibition in the Orangery, booking not necessary. 10.30am-5pm


March 29 I Love Vintage Fair, Powell-Cotton Museum,


House & Gardens, Birchington A vintage style fair featuring many different stallholders selling all sorts of vintage crafts from the 1950s right through to the 1980s, including clothes, household gifts, jewellery, cards and gifts. Admission is £3 adults, under 16s are free.


March 29 – April 1


Easter Weekend, Kent Life, Maidstone Come along and meet all the new babies on the farm from lambs, calves, piglets, chicks and goats. Meet the blacksmith (Friday and Monday), give the coconut shy a go, watch the hops being strung and keep your eyes peeled for the Easter bunny. Or you can make your very own Easter bonnet, take part in the parade and grab your chance to win a prize.


March 31 NGS Garden Open Day, Godinton House and


Gardens, Ashford Supporting the work of the National Gardens Scheme. Tearoom and house open for tours. Entry charges apply.
