HOMEAID ASSISTS WITH SHELTER RENOVATION
Mission of Yahweh (MOY) will be hosting an open house on February 12 to celebrate the completion of renovations to the Sister Gay Children's Home, which will add dignified housing for 40 women and children.
HomeAid was able to aid in the renovation by working with GHBA vendors and suppliers to get donations of materials. Dal-Tile donated over $5,000 worth of tile, enabling MOY to renovate two multi- person bathrooms. In addition, Bison, a Stock Building Supply Co. provided doors
at a discounted price, and Darling Homes donated a Bosch washer and dryer.
The Mission of Yahweh is a faith-based shelter that empowers, enriches and restores the lives of homeless women and children and provides outreach services to low-income families. MOY has served homeless women and their children since 1961. The doors are always open for families in crisis. The agency not only gives food, clothing and shelter, but also is committed to helping residents to become self-sufficient, productive members of
society. MOY supports more than 2,300 residential stays each month, and provides thousands of Houston/Carverdale-area residents with donations of food, clothing, school supplies and other necessities.

GREATER HOUSTON BUILDERS ASSOCIATION – BUILDING A BETTER FUTURE | HOUSTON BUILDER | FEBRUARY 2013 29
This is the seventh year for Project Playhouse and the seventh year that the Houston Astros have partnered with HomeAid for the fundraiser. The design theme will be “unveiled” in April, and the playhouse will then be put on display at several venues as it makes its way to its final destination at Minute Maid Park. There it will be on display during the Astros’ home games in July and August.
The playhouse will include features such as air conditioning, lighting, electronics, a refrigerator and professional interior design elements reflecting the playhouse theme.
