On every trip to Litchfield Beach, and there

have been many over the years, we always make it a point to do breakfast at least once at The Eggs Up Grill. It’s all about the experience. There’s always a waiting line, at least on Sundays, but plenty of chairs to sit out in the hallway and wait, and catch up with your friends and neighbors who are also waiting for a table. When my kids were younger, they had

a blast when we would go to Eggs Up. Most of the seating allows for a vantage point where you can watch the folks cooking up massive amounts of break- fast on griddles and stove tops. It makes for a pretty fun show. The cooks have the routine down to a science, making for an entertaining experience. Of course, it’s the food that really matters,

and I can honestly say I have not once been disappointed. Some of their specialty items include

Corned Beef Hash & Eggs, all homemade. The hash is made from corned beef brisket, cooked with secret spices and served with

their signature FarmLand Fries or good ol’ grits and toast. Lots of folks order the ribeye steak and eggs, and it looked, and smelled, mighty tasty. Nine times out of ten, I order the “Classic,”

consisting of eggs, bacon (or sausage), grits and toast. I like mine scrambled with a little cheese. Hard to beat. For those concerned about their waistline,

there are plenty of healthy options. You might want to try the Skinny Chicken - two poached eggs, a toasted English muffin and

grapefruit slices. On the other hand, if you want to fill up on some of the tastiest break- fast this side of Charleston, order up one of their outstanding omelettes, each made with Made with 3 farm fresh eggs, and served toast and your choice of fries or grits. There are a slew of choices. My personal favorite is The Greek - Spinach, feta cheese, tomatoes and black olives. But there are many other tempt- ing choices, from Philly Cheese Steak to the West Coast Omelette to the Veggie Stir-Fry,
