son at Polygram had control of all the Capri- corn masters that ended up at Polygram after Capricorn went bankrupt in 1981. The box set concept was new and exciting and an eco- nomical way for record companies to maxi- mize their catalog sales. Bill knew he had the goods in the tape vaults but he needed some- one to help him with the musical story line which is where I came in. Earlier in the 80s while working gath- ering mate- rial for the biography project, I lo- cated count- less tapes, live tapes, re- hearsals, demos, out- takes, pre- Allman tapes, early band tapes from all kinds of places - Dickey's dirt floor garage in Parish, Florida; Mama A's kitchen cup- board; Linda Oakley's steamer trunk; ex- roadies attics. But it effec- tively ended my ability time-wise to tour with an- other band as a photographer. Then came
Gov't Mule. Through the course of over 25 years with
the Allman Brothers, I supplied, created and photographed many LP/CD covers - Seven Turns, Shades of Two Worlds, An Evening With First Set and Second Set, Live at the Beacon and many others along with con- tributing images for all the other CD, DVD packages, posters, publicity shots and maga- zine covers. I was at the heart of helping to
