tions, ad agencies and the world at large. Getty currently has over 2,000 of my images available to license to publications, record companies, ad agencies and the like. Hope- fully more magazine coverage and gallery shows are in the future. Discussions are con- tinuing with regards to publishing a coffee table book or two. Funding has been lined up for the initial book. I have ideas and material for three separate books with different themes, a general music photo book, a blues photo book and of course an Allman Brothers Band coffee table book. So 2013 looks pretty good from here.
What’s other projects are you working on? In the last 18 months Kirsten and I have trav- eled throughout Eastern Europe three sepa- rate times. Photographing these foreign cultures has been really rewarding; showing me how to look at the world around me with fresh eyes and new perspectives. So much so, that after returning from the second trip in the spring of 2012 I set about delving deep into that part of the world that I have called home for the past 20 years, the Deep South. I want to document the South and the rem-
nants of the South before they completely dis- appear with the proliferation of Walmart and Dollar General stores. The small country towns and the crossroad mom and pop stores are rapidly disappearing and the interstates have by-passed and snuffed out so many of the small towns and rich culture that made the southern United States so unique. I want to focus on documenting this life before it be- comes so homogenized that it becomes unrec- ognizable as a culture unto itself. I spent an entire month driving the back roads of Mis- sissippi documenting the Mississippi blues trail, the juke joints, the grave yards, the birthplaces of the Delta, from the hill country through the Mississippi Delta down to Farra- day and New Orleans Louisiana. I hope to do something with that in the future. I have trav- eled extensively thru out Georgia and Ala- bama as well, covering the back roads and pine forrests and small towns and expect to feature some of this in shows in the future as well, or perhaps in small print publications. •
