September 7 – 8, 2012 saw 4 Ontario ponies bring home arm loads of awards after competing at the National Dressage Pony Cup at the Kentucky Horse Park, Lexington KY. The National Dressage Pony Cup is dedicated to the pro- motion of ponies, their breeders, owners and riders in dressage competition in the United States. Held annual in the Midwest in conjunction with the Mid- South Eventing and Dres- sage Association show, competitors come from all over. The National Dres- sage Pony Cup is open to any breed of pony or horse as long as size require- ments are met.

Newfoundland Pony stallion, Mr. Maple was National Pony Dres- sage Cup 1st Level Grand Champi- on, Grand Champion Combined Freestyle 1-4th Level, Breed Cham- pion and Reserve Grand Champion (all levels) Open/Pro Rider. Celine and Mr Maple are no strangers to dressage placing 2nd at the 2011 Trillium Champions in 1st level. This 13hh black stallion has also been an equine ambassador for The Horse exhibition at the Canadian Museum of Civilization.
NDPC Reserve Grand Champion Open Intro. This 6 year old, 14.1 buckskin Connemara stallion is a new relatively entrant into the dres- sage world, when compared to the others representing Ontario.

Charles de Kunffy Joins Dressage Summit Superstar Lineup

The final pony representing Ontario at the National Dressage Pony Cup was Bennos Hit, a 12-year old, 14.1hh chestnut gelding import- ed German Riding Pony. Ridden by owner Jane Southgate the pair were NDPC Grand Champion 3rd Level. This pair has been consistently mov- ing up the ranks – 2010 Open Level 1 Champion at CADORA Silver Championships and 2011 Level 1 Champion at a Gold Dressage Show.
