Customer First


Customer First is your first point of contact via telephone or e mail for information and advice on a wide range of Council Services including: Council Tax, Benefits and Welfare reform, Housing Repairs, Licensing, Recycling/Cleansing requests, Sports Pitch bookings and school holiday activities.


Customer First are available between 8am and 6pm Monday to Friday and a number of our services are available 24/7 to Book/Pay/Report online at www.eastrenfrewshire.gov.uk/doitonline


If you would rather visit “in person”, Customer First also provides Reception facilities and a “one stop shop” at each of the Eastwood and Barrhead Council offices. In our “one stop shops” we operate an appointment system for birth and death registrations and a “drop in” service for help and assistance in a wide range of Council services including: Benefits and Welfare reform, Disclosure Applications, Taxi Licensing, Social Work duty appointments, Council Tax, Housing Tenancy and Homelessness issues and we process and request a wide range of Environmental services.


We operate an automated telephone payment system for Council Tax, Rent, Tenants Insurance and Debtors accounts and our telephone contact centre will process debit and credit card payments for a variety of Council services.

Licensing


Legislation requires local authorities to administer and issue licenses on a variety of activities, including street traders, alcohol licensing, bookmaker’s permits, betting office licences, gaming machines permits and bingo licences. For information on whether your business requires a licence, please visit the business portal website www.business.scotland.gov.uk Where the Council is responsible for the issuing of a particular licence, we will undertake to process your application as quickly as possible although this often depends on the speed of checks required as part of the application process. In most cases, you will be able to apply online for the licence, alternatively, please contact our Customer First team.
