PRODUCT INNOVATIONS Feeling fruity

The secret is out – Pidy has finally launched the second strand of its groundbreaking new canapé concept – Fruity Cups. Fabulous Fruity Cups have been developed for health-conscious customers with gourmet living in mind. Fashioned like fine pastry fruit baskets, this natural successor to Veggie Cups is a tantalising blend of low-fat dough and 30 per cent real fruit juice extract making it suitable as a one- bite dessert for stand up buffets, three-on-a-plate with cream for a sit down pud’ or simply as a sweetmeat on a saucer to accompany coffee. There are four varieties – Strawberry, Banana, Mixed Berries and Orange – containing no artificial colours or E-numbers. “It’s good to see our plans bearing fruit,” says GM of Pidy UK, Robert Whittle. For more information call 01604 705666 or visit www.pidy.com.

Looks matter

In specialist healthcare environments where good looks are nearly as important as a non- slip, hygienic and safe floor construction, the new ASPEN Resin Filled Drain Cover is perfect. Now available in two standard sizes, the Drain Cover can be filled with a resin to match the colour, finish and functionality of the surrounding floor surface. This new product from the forward thinking ASPEN team creates a durable, hardwearing floor finish, with anti-slip protection and looks to match. As the UK based designer and manufacturer, ASPEN is able to fabricate and install complete stainless steel drainage systems, kerbing and protection for the

in new product Printpack's Kutno plant has delivered another new product from concept through to market for leading food and beverage

manufacturer, Aimia Foods Limited, developing new format triplex film stick packs for its powder products. Aimia Foods Limited had experienced problems with faulty and leaking stick packs caused by dry powder contamination in the seal. Using a new triplex film with a speciality polyethylene sealant layer, Printpack created new packs to solve the problem. Printpack carried out extensive trials of the new packs, including close monitoring of the packing process and the "burst” testing used to measure seal integrity. The new packaging improved the seal and tear performance and provided better protection and preservation.  For more information visit www.printpack.eu.com.
