My family, especially the kids, can’t get enough of Explore’s adventures. We’ve been lucky enough to try out a huge range of activities we wouldn’t have otherwise experienced: climbing volcanoes, zip wiring through jungles, kayaking, surfi ng – we’ve seen some truly fascinating wildlife and have even sampled ice-creams from the world over. There’s never a dull moment. Most importantly of all though, we always come home with some fantastic new friends and amazing memories – and that’s what it’s all about.
I’m a fi rm believer in the saying ‘happy kids means happy grown ups’ and that’s why we travel with Explore. The group interaction is invaluable; the kids get to travel with others of a similar age without feeling like they’re being herded around by their parents for the entire trip. They also get to do some character building and learn something along the way; it’s very much an enjoyable education for all– even the parents. Africa’s next on our list and we can’t wait!
We’ve been lucky enough to do family holidays in Croatia, Morocco, Egypt, South Africa and Cuba. They’ve all been fantastic trips, real adventures with memories that will last a lifetime It’s always amazing to see how the children get on with each other from day one, whatever the age or gender mix. The balance of activity and relaxation is key: the kids need time each day to re-charge their batteries. If asked to pick our favourite trips, we’d say Croatia for relaxation (a week sailing the Dalmatian coast), South Africa for the wildlife or Egypt for the sheer variety – something new to enjoy every day.
The thing I love most about travelling with Explore is experiencing different cultures – I just love seeing how different people live. It’s really important to me that my children learn something while they’re travelling and these adventures teach more than you could ever teach in a classroom. My kids love adventures – fi nding unique wildlife, meeting children from other cultures, seeing new places, trying new food – the list is endless. It’s amazing to be able to share these unforgettable adventures with them.
I travelled to India with my family last year and I can honestly say that it’s the best holiday I’ve ever had. The family concept worked just perfectly, me and my husband, as well as my fi ve and six year old girls made great friends – everyone had a fantastic time without having to compromise for one another. The tour leader was really great with the kids, and made sure that they learnt lots without feeling that they were being taught.
