This trip has been designed with activities and experiences to give you an insight into traditional Thai life. We stay in raft houses on the famous River Kwai, walk through dense rainforest and experience the warm hospitality of local villagers in their homes. We try a little bit of everything: from cookery to cycling and cities to beaches.

14 day tour itinerary


Day 1 Join tour Bangkok. Option to view the city’s stilt houses in longtail boats along the klongs (canals). Day 2 Bangkok Visit the Grand Palace then create a delicious Thai curry in a cookery lesson. Days 3/4 Raft houses Stay in raft houses fl oating on the River Kwai. Enjoy bamboo rafting and cycle through the jungle to limestone caves. Day 5 “Death Railway” Visit the railway near Kanchanaburi that was constructed by Japanese prisoners of war. Take a sleeper train south. Days 6/7 Jungle experience In Khao Sok National Park, ride elephants through lush rainforest to a nearby waterfall and take a guided walk. Days 8/9 Homestay Stay with Thai

families for two days and experience daily village life where fi shing and farming is a way of life. Days 10/13 Koh Samui Relax with plenty of free time on this paradise island. Take a boat trip into the Ang Thong Marine National Park for snorkelling and swimming. Fly to Bangkok. Day 14 Tour ends Bangkok.


WINTER: For trips over Christmas and Easter we change destinations and head to the Andaman Sea west coast where conditions are more favourable at that time of year.

Where will we sleep? 6 nights standard hotels, 2 nights simple en suite raft house, 2 nights standard jungle lodge, 2 nights basic homestay. 1 night air-conditioned basic sleeper train. What will we eat? 12 breakfasts, 4 lunches and 4 dinners are included. Swimming: The hotels in Bangkok, Khao Sok, Koh Samui and Krabi have pools. Transport: Minibus, various boats, train, ferry.
