This energetic trip explores Tuscany’s hidden gem – the Garfagnana Valley. We combine varied outdoor activities with time to relax by the pool at our beautifully restored Tuscan villa. Kayak on a mountain lake, walk the ‘Cinque


Terre’ coastal path, and cycle on the ancient city walls of Lucca. At the end of each day we return to our homely farmhouse and enjoy home-cooked Tuscan cuisine.

8 day tour itinerary


Day 1 Join tour in Florence airport. Transfer to Castelnuovo di Garfagnana, a lovingly restored Tuscan farmhouse and working farm. Day 2 Kayak Explore the lovely mountain setting of Lake Vagli by kayak. Climb trees in the Buffardello Forest Adventure Park and visit the 13th century Verrucole Fortress. Day 3 Coastal walk Travel by train to the Cinque Terre coastal region for walking and the opportunity to sail and swim in clear bays. Day 4 Mountain hike Day walk in the Apennines with superb panoramic views of the region. Relax at the farmhouse in the late afternoon. Day 5 Pisa & Lucca Opt to visit Lucca for a cycle or walk on the medieval

Day 6 Canyoning and Climbing An adventurous day in Levigliese Park where we abseil, jump and slide downriver before an introduction to rockface climbing. Both activities are suitable for all levels from beginner upwards and include professional instruction. Day 7 Bike ride An exhilarating 25km bike descent from the 1400m Pradarena mountain pass, through medieval villages and back to the farmhouse. Day 8 Tour ends Florence airport.
