THE RED DEER CONNECTION
Commuting between Central Alberta and the Okanagan just got easier. Northwestern Air now offers non-stop service between YLW and Red Deer Regional Airport (YQF) twice a week.
Members of the airport community including the Airport Advisory Committee welcomed the Jetstream 32 as it arrived at YLW on April 20th with the inaugural flight filled with politicians, tourism and business leaders from the Red Deer Region as well as just regular
folk on the flight to spend the weekend in the Okanagan.
Red Deer Airport hosted a contest for area residents to enter to win a trip for two to Kelowna with a two night stay at the Delta Grand Okanagan, Budget Rent-A-Car and wine tour with Distinctly Kelowna Tours. YLW hosted their own contest with K Mornings on K96-3 with David and Tony who wanted to know “Where’s the Beef?” Johnny Hanson from Kelowna and his girlfriend were the lucky winners of the flight for two on the
inaugural Northwestern Air flight to Red Deer with the Mayor of Red Deer and Mayor of Red Deer County, plus a two night stay at the Sheraton Red Deer Hotel, and a rental car from Budget. They also enjoyed a steak dinner at Heritage Ranch and romantic carriage ride as part of their prize package.
Flights between Red Deer and Kelowna are every Friday and Sunday. Visit Northwestern Air’s website at
www.nwal.ca to book your flight.
