Osoyoos is one of the many gems of the Okanagan. It is located in Canada’s only true desert near the border with Washington State. Here you will find one of the hottest, driest climates in BC, accompanied by one of the country’s warmest lakes. Picture yourself relaxing on the beach as you look out and see the desert hills, vineyards and orchards. If you get tired of the beach there is always golf, spas, wineries, orchards, culinary delights, mountains, First Nations culture and eco-desert experiences.
The people of Osoyoos are proud of their town and it shows. There are several places to stay here ranging from high-end resorts (with reasonable rates) to cozy B&B’s and campsites. Come for a mini-vacation or a large family event. There’s plenty of room for everyone. Be forewarned, Osoyoos is one of BC’s worst kept secrets. You may have to book a month or two in advance to ensure you have a place to rest your head after a busy day exploring the area.
A growing number of stylish resorts have technology-equipped banquet and conference rooms accommodating up to 400 people – perfect for business meetings, conferences, weddings or special events.
Some things you must see are the live rattlesnake show at the NK’MIP Desert Cultural Centre and the 1.5 km guided walking tour on a raised boardwalk at the
Osoyoos Desert Centre. The latter is best enjoyed early in the morning before temperatures soar so you can enjoy the unique flora and fauna.
There are eco-tours for outdoor enthusiasts of all ages and a variety of unique educational excursions and exciting learning opportunities in and around Osoyoos. You can view the valley atop an alpine plateau or go on a bird
