WHAT FOOD PLAN FITS FOR YOU?

Today, there are more registered dietitians, clinical nutritionists, medical doc-

tors, books, DVDs, websites, specialized branches of medicine for metabolic diseases, and “experts” telling us what proper nutrition is... Yet, we humans are riddled with MORE sickness and disease now, then at any other point in the history. With all these so-called experts and resources at our disposal to keep us eating healthy and living at a high level of well-being, why are the number of sick and dying people growing at such exponential rates? And why is the medical system developing light-speeds faster then our educational system? Nutritional fads are a dime a dozen, they often come complete with an “expert”

advocating it, plus a bonus DVD and free shipping—but only if you order right now! Diet-doctrine has no doubt flooded our society to the point of mass confu- sion and sadly, poor health. So what is one to believe? The best place to start is with some true unpaid, unsolicited science and sensibility.

EVOLUTION Humans have lived and evolved on this earth for millennia, our physical and psychological bodies are carved directly from our preceding ancestors. We have literally been shaped through evolution and time, to look, move, feel, and act in the way we do currently. From the physical formation of our cranium, with its ear and eye placement; to our tooth design and jaw structures—and without a doubt we evolved as a hunter-gatherer culture. We have lived an thrived on earth for 99 percent of our existence as hunter-gatherers, so our physical features, like binocular vision used to spot and track prey, to our canines, bicuspids and incisors, developed to cut and tear flesh, grind down plants and seeds for suste- nance, are all traits developed over time that support our ability to survive and thrive in our environment.

EVOLUTION AND HEALTHY DIGESTION Michael R. Eades, M.D., and Mary Dan Eades, M.D.,

(renowned experts in nutrition and metabolic medicine) show in detail the physiology of the hu- man digestive system as compared to animals, like a carnivore (a wolf or lion) or an herbivore, (a cow or sheep). We are nearly identical from our mouth to our anus to that of a carnivore, including the acids secreted in our stomachs needed to break down nutrients like fats and proteins. The herbivore on the other hand, has a much more complex digestive system, consisting of multiple stomachs which allow it to eat vegetation like grass, then ferment it using specific bacteria. After fermentation, the nutrients are bio-available to the sheep for absorption. Humans and other carnivores have a simplistic diges- tive system in comparison, with only one stomach, which does not allow for fer- mentation of any
