APRIL 2011 – JANET JACKSON A very candid interview; she was very open on many topics, including bullying and how she was a victim of it growing up. I always thought she was the genuine, real thing and felt so even more after the interview. “I really hope that kids in the LGBT community hear it when I say the they are perfect,
JUNE 2010 - GALE HAROLD The sexy star of the hit TV series Queer As Folk rarely gives interviews, so we felt very lucky that he chose The Rage Monthly for the honor. The interview became a internet phenomenon like nothing we had ever expe- rienced before. Multiple requests for us to ship issues all over the country and world! Mr. Harold has a very large and very loyal fan base… sigh—us included!
just the way they are. That why it was so important for me to participate in the ‘It Gets Better’ campaign. I was teased and picked on when I was a kid. It has been a long road, but I am happy with my life now. It does get better.” Of her music she said, “I am so happy to hear that people are inspired by my music, I really am. When I go into the studio, I am inspired by whatever is going on in my life and I hope that people can relate to that.”

MAY 2011 - ARMISTEAD MAUPIN For so many of us coming up there were few examples of what it was like to be gay. Armistead Maupin made it just a little bit easier, first with his books starting with Tales of the City and later with the PBS series we all came to love. We were all fascinated to learn we were not the only gay boys in town and that we could actually have a life—and a fun one at that. Ah the ‘70s, those bell bottoms and all that sex.
JULY 2010 - WANDA SYKES Being one of the first to interview a celebrity after they come out is an honor and often a very hard thing to do. So when comedian and actress Wanda Sykes allowed us to speak with her about her process, being proud of who you are and standing for LBGT rights, we were flattered and hysterical at the same time.
DECEMBER 2010 – CHER AND CO. Ummm… did we just toot our own horn? OH YES WE DID, because it was Cher bitches!! Go on with your green old selves, that gypsy, tramp and thief is mine (okay, OURS) and she totally made us believe in love again! She “Showed a little more. Showed a little less. Added a little smoke and welcomed us to Burlesque.” This indomitable superstar took some time out to tell us about her life, the film and what it was like to still be in the business after 45 years. And in the best “three- for- one” deal on earth, we were also able to interview her co-star Christina Aguilera as well. Gitchy-gitchy-ya-ya, we totally got TINA—and she did make us feel beautiful! And if that wasn’t enough, Stanley Tucci came along for the ride. He said of the first meeting with Cher, “I was star struck when I first met her... Now, I could care less (laughter). We just got along. That relationship you see is really the relationship we have in real life.” A happy moment for us all.

APRIL 2012 – JOHN AMAECHI The sports world is still not the bastion for tolerance, being gay in the NBA wasn’t all hoops and happiness for John Amaechi who shared his story with intelligence, humor and a great deal of insight. The world is a changin’ and he is part of the reason it has.
