He said enhancements to the John Deere E-Series CTL wheeled harvesters, specifically the 1270E and 1470E models, give customers greater productivity and higher uptime, as well as maintain low daily operating costs.


Machine enhancements The new E-Series machines are more powerful than ever and offer superior performance while retaining the same smooth, stable operating environment. An advanced power management function anticipates increasing loads from the hydraulic system and responds by adjusting engine power to maintain rpm-sustaining power. This allows for consistent hydraulic functions speed for improved productivity.


The 1270E and 1470E John


Deere harvesters feature a hydraulic power solution that uses two open-loop pumps, giving operators highly efficient, simultaneous steering, as well as increased boom and wood- processing control. Improvements to the hydrostatic drive offer better drive ability and fuel efficiency.


The John Deere stage IIIB/IT4 solution In Europe, the 1270E and 1470E models are now equipped with a Deere 6090 PowerTech Plus fuel- efficient, diesel engine. This single-fluid solution is operator- friendly with no diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) needed, helping to lower daily operating costs. The new engine technology meets strict European Union (EU) Stage IIIB and US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Interim Tier 4 engine emission regulations for non-road engines over 130 kW (174 hp). “Keeping focus on customer needs, John Deere continues to lead the industry in product innovation and had been

Tier 4 solution can be found under the hood of the harvesters and is centred on cooled exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) in a ‘closed loop’ control system. This system precisely mixes exhaust gas with incoming fresh air to lower the engine’s peak combustion temperature, thereby reducing nitrogen oxide emissions. In choosing a solution for Stage


IIIB/Interim Tier 4, John Deere elected not to use selective catalytic reduction (SCR). John Deere's cooled EGR and exhaust filter approach provides customers a proven solution with the best total fluid economy. The single- fluid approach of cooled EGR means owners and operators won't have to incur the cost of diesel fuel plus the additional cost for diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) required by SCR systems.
