The Austimber 2012 exhibition at Mount Gambia will be held in March where Logset will be represented and the first forwarder on display will continue to serve Australian contractors after the fair. Karmet Enterprises is owned by Finnish Markku Turunen and will be Logset’s exclusive dealer in Australia. Karmet has created, together with Logset, a new contractor-friendly concept for taking care of after sales. It will also be launched at the Austimber. Nikkanen was satisfied with the

deal: “Logset has set a strong growth pace and now we see this

momentum in Australia. We believe we can sell some 10 machines per year initially. “A new approach for after sales

has created a lot of interest in Logset among the contractors. Markku Turunen has probably the best knowledge of the Australian market and is the right type of motivated dealer that we need for successful market penetration.”

Meanwhile, Logset Managing Director Pasi Nieminen tendered his resignation last year, which and has been accepted by the Board, has moved on to “new challenges” this year. Nieminen cited entirely personal reasons for the decision and took the opportunity to thank Logset’s customers and distributors for great collaboration and strong team spirit during his years at Logset. Tapio Nikkanen, Chairman of the Board: “Mr Nieminen’s resignation due to family reasons is regrettable as he has done a great job, especially considering the challenging circumstances in the industry during past few years. The board of Logset has concluded that anybody in Pasi’s position would have made the same decision. Thus, the board fully approves his decision. We thank Pasi for all these years at
