At Hopgood Performance Horses we have been asked numerous times whether we would take on clients outside of America. We have recognised an opportunity to help reining enthusiasts in Europe to own a high class performance horse - bought, trained and shown in the USA.
We are offering reining lovers the chance to join our International Reining Program, a custom training package designed to make accessing the reining scene in the States easy, fun and affordable.
At Hopgood Performance Horses we specialise in the sport of reining. We trained outside of the US for a number of years and realised that it is near impossible for ‘Internationals’ to gain access to the US reining industry without great contacts. We are offering you the chance to make us your contact and your link into the highest level of reining in the world.
We operate our training business in Temecula, California (in between LA and San Diego). We are situated at the heart of the California Reining scene nestled between fellow ranches and wineries.
EYES ON THE FUTURITY There’s nothing more exciting than going to the Oklahoma City Reining Futurity, a few thousand spectators and all eyes are on your horse waiting to see if they are going to win the big prize – 1st place = $150,000! Over $2.2 million total prize money for the entire show! This is just one of the many reasons why the sport of reining here in the USA is so exciting and adrenalin filled.

WHAT DOES THE PACKAGE INCLUDE? The International Program is all about collaboration with you, the owner, in buying a high quality performance horse that suits you and what you wish to achieve. We will bring the professionalism that you need when choosing a reining horse, bearing in mind great conformation, attitude and athleticism, to give you the best horse you can possibly own within your budget. You do not have to be super rich to do this and it is a great time to buy horses due to the economy. You will be part of the reining world at the highest level, something which normally takes years to accomplish.
You will get monthly video updates of your horse’s training progress. We want to offer you the option of not only coming over to the US to watch you’re horse compete but also the option for you to come and compete on your horse. Also, you may come and visit us/your horse at the ranch as often or as little as you wish, and we have great accommodation on site. The International Reining Program is a great excuse to holiday over in America and to see your horse shining in the show pen at the world’s biggest and most prestigious reining shows.
Once your futurity horse has completed the futurity level shows you can stay in our program and we can continue your horse’s show career, next stop would be the reining derbies. The other option could be to sell your horse for a tidy sum or you can ship your horse home for your own personal use. Owning a horse that has been bought, trained and shown in the USA would make you a real competitor on the UK and European show circuits.
