ONE of the highlights of this year’s festival looks set to be the spectacular Edenbridge Fun Day on Bank Holiday Monday, 4 June. The Pram Race returns for another year this time with three race categories – adult (18 plus), youth (11- 17), and kids (under 11s). And there is still time to enter a pram – see
www.edenvalleyfestival.org.uk for entry forms or call Laura on 01732 864878. Help with building prams is available if needed.
The adult and youth pram teams will start from the Swan Pub in Swan Lane and will finish at Ye Old Crowne. Listen to the ever-popular Edenbridge Town Band as they serenade arrivals at the top of the High Street. The kids’ pram race, which includes some fun and games, will run along a shorter course within the High Street.
The Brownies have already entered a team and are calling on other children’s groups to join them.
Thanks go to sponsors Edenbridge Town Council, Great Stone Bridge Trust, EMAT, Eden Valley Chamber of
Commerce and The Chronicle.

Plenty of fun at festival extravaganza
Many High Street shops will be open for the day and be displaying Diamond Queens – a children’s art competition using recycled materials organised by the Sustainable Edenbridge group. Snap up some goodies at the English Market in the Natwest car park or visit the Eden Valley Museum’s jubilee-themed exhibition Vivat Regina, 1952 depicting local scenes from 60 years ago. Children can join in the fun at the Doodle Den, helping the Eden Valley Artists to create a colourful frieze. The artists will also be showing children’s art installation Children through the Ages. There will also be a Flower Festival in the parish church and a parade of cars and motorbikes representing each decade of the Queen’s reign, starting at Fircroft Way, then moving through the High Street to a static display in Lingfield Road recreation ground. In Church Road, the Bonfire Society stage will be hosting Bands on the Run, an
