’day Guys, Sad this will be the
last publication of the BULL in its current format. My worn out fingers and eager but tired photocopier, can now retire in peace!
his was explained to members who were present at our Rotary meeting on Thursday 26-Apr, Whereas,
I asked all present to think about the options, which hopefully by the time you read this a good decision has been made, I reiterate what I said at that meeting as the reasons to cease are practical reasons ONLY as I am now of the conclusion that it is too much to ask a photo- copier to double side print usually around 60 sides of around 70 editions 3 times a year. This type of printing is really the work of a commercial printing press, I have struggled full of good intentions since our first edition which was in April 2008 but cannot know continue, I have finally come to the conclusion that there has to be a better alternative! Making a photocopier do a printing press job is as you can imagine very cumbersome, which always disrupts our business, especially when the double sided duplex jam’s, etc., which sadly I now cannot allow to continue, I have given plenty of notice and submitted suggestions to our Club Council which they are considering. However, looking on the good side, this has in my opinion presented an opportunity for change to bring us more into the 21st century! As I would like you all to consider the exciting era that we are all now living in! and the things we now do on a daily basis, which have changed considerably, over the past four years since the first production of this format of our BULL, evidenced with the growth of the internet , E-readers- Kindle, iPad, iPod, etc. Please also bear in mind that our Club website over the last couple of years has also had a complete new uplift, it now has all the information stories, photos that goes into the BULL, and the website is updated immediately , whereas, the BULL that you have in your hand has some information, events, photos & stories that most of you would have seen months ago on our Club website? “seams silly to duplicate and read old news” I did explain at said meeting the costs associated with a commercial press, which is a suggestion but not one that I necessarily recommend, as it would cost each of us around £50 per annum (£1 a-week) if we could not find advertisers of around £2000 PA to cover the costs. Thereby, I suggest that if we can not finance the Commercial printing press then we have a Bulletin of four pages only i.e. A4 folded that will contain formal information in text of dates and events only and promote our website more, I realise this will affect members who do not use a computer, and I would like to address this with you on a one2one basis, as you can download colour printed pages from our website! Maybe family or friends can do this for you?

ew technology is being created daily, You would be aware that life as we know it is also changing
daily. Thereby, as your Club webmaster I feel it my duty to bring these IT suggestions to you.
Kindle, ipad, iPod, videos, etc., However, as previously said, there are some of you that have recently resigned from using a PC, thereby, in my opinion missing out on an enormous amount of fun, bearing this in mind I shall try and entice you back into this IT World by offering to “Members only” free “IT” training or refresher lessons in our new offices in Romford, it is large enough to accommodate all of our members, you can bring your own PC or laptop or use one of ours, I will set up a screen & projector and walk us around our Club website to show what is available. The future is “Mind-blowing” I would prefer the training to be in a group, (of course drinks provided afterwards hic-hic) however, I am willing to provide one2one hands on training for members only,. Bearing this in mind I will shortly be sending around a circular at our regular club meetings to enquire the numbers interested, which will determine if it is to go ahead and if so either a day or evening session, i.e. can accommodate up to 14 during the day and all members in the evening, or alternatively, I bring a PC and projector to a fellowship meeting and demonstrate how to navigate around our Club website, believe me guys it is very easy once you know how. Those of you that regularly visit our club website will have noticed that it has been upgraded with extra features and is getting even much more easier to use, if you haven’t been looking at our website then I feel assured that after a training session mentioned above you will want too! Especially as we now have many videos that can be easily viewed by simply clicking your mouse button, all will be revealed and disclosed at the said training session.

revious issues of this magazine and others published over the past four years are available to be viewed in flip page technology on our club website.
know I speak for us all when I say it will be good to have George back in full health. The past couple of
months I have missed the energy and enthusiasm that George normally provides in his editorial duties. Albeit, I know George has had much to do the past 12 months, along with the obvious duties of President and editor of this magazine, I have tried not to put any pressure on the Editorial duties, as I know George has had much to do! I look forward to George back in full health with both hands on the horns of his editorial duties which in the future will increase with demands for material for our website. All the best for now hope you enjoy this version of our BULL
