1. Give us an elevator pitch for your company Fit For Sport is a Sports Therapy clinic that diagnoses, treats and rehabilitates sports injuries for elite athletes and the general public. The clinic also provides first aid courses for universities, colleges and work places.
2. How did your entrepreneurial journey begin? The clinic had humble beginnings. I started the business by trading free treatments with a personal trainer for some space at his gym and managed to convince a Physio I knew to agree to swap a second hand treatment bed he had for 8 bottles of wine.
3. What has been your biggest achievement so far?
Growing the business enough to now run out of 3 locations with 3 sports therapists, one of which is now the clinic manager. Other highlights include the work we did with Eddie Izzard during his marathon runs for Sport Relief, an article on surf injuries for Cooler Magazine, an interview I gave to BBC Radio 5Live regarding Owen Hargreaves’s injuries during his time at Manchester Utd and the support we have been able to offer at local charity events.
4. What will be your next step?
Having had no formal background in business it has been a steep learning curve for me but I have discovered a great entrepreneurial passion since graduating from university. We have exciting plans for opening our 4th and 5th clinics later this year and I have just recently started new consultancy firm that provides advisory services for insurers, brokers and corporate clients.
