MP announces retirement

TONBRIDGE and Malling MP Sir John Stanley has announced his retirement, after represent- ing the constituency for 40 years. Sir John, who will leave at the

indomitable courage and ex- traordinary inner strength, whose determination to ad- vance human rights and per- sonal freedom make them, to my mind, the moral giants of our time. “But without question, the greatest privilege of all these last 40 or so years, has been to represent in Parliament the splendid people of the Ton- bridge and Malling con- stituency.”
