stars awarded FOOD businesses across Ton- bridge and Malling are being encouraged to win customers by telling the world about their high standards of hygiene. The borough council has adopted the national Food Hy- giene Rating Scheme that scores every food retailer out of five for cleanliness. Cllr Howard Rogers, cabinet member for environmental serv- ices, said: “Businesses are legally required to meet hygiene regulations, so itmakes sense to tell customers about it.” The council will inspect


every food shop and eatery in the borough and firms can dis- play their ratings sticker or cer- tificate at their premises or on their websites. Ratings will also be available on www.food.gov.uk/ratings
