All of us at Construction News look forward to the Specialists Awards as the calendar highlight of our year for specialist subcontractors.


With 79 companies competing


in 17 categories, everybody who is shortlisted has a tremendous amount to be proud of. Being one of the fi nalists at the Specialists Awards, from among the hundreds of entries we receive, is a huge achievement in itself. Times are tough, and likely to


continue to be so for a while, but our fi nalists show that good old-fashioned hard work, supplemented with fresh ideas, energy and a positive attitude, keeps the industry moving on to bigger and better things. Specialist contractors are the


foundations on which the industry stands, and who play a vital role in creating and


maintaining healthy supply chains. These awards are one way to give specialists the recognition you deserve. In sharing your successes, and


the lessons you’ve learned along the way – you are helping Construction News to fl y the fl ag for you and to strengthen the industry as a whole. Thanks to our judges, who give


up a considerable amount of their time to ensure the shortlist represents the best of the industry, and that the winners really are the very best among a hugely competitive fi eld. Thanks too to our sponsors,
