Structural Elements A new generation structural roof element
Eurobond’s SkanDek is a proven construction system that follows the industry trend for the prefabrica- tion of high performance building elements and is equally applicable to new build and refurbishment. SkanDek can be cost effectively integrated into a building's structure whatever the construction mate- rial – steel, concrete, timber, masonry or composite structure. SkanDek offers slender construction, stun- ning overhangs, increased floor grids, open space and light. When it is used as part of the building’s structure, it can reduce cost of steel and concrete frames and eliminate secondary steelwork. SkanDek will expand the grid of a building resulting in savings on foundations and fewer columns that will make inte- rior space more attractive and flexible. It is based on a patented lightweight box girder beam that offers an impressive spanning capability of up to 22m. This superior strength and stiffness can be put to good use spanning shorter distances at higher loads and opens the possibility of cost effective overhangs. Over 500,000m² of SkanDek elements have been installed in a wide range of building types. The system is fully tested and is the first lightweight roof system to have gained CE Mark status. Eurobond-SkanDek has developed special design programs and extensive detail library all with the backing of independent assess- ment by the Steel Construction Institute and award of their SCI Assessed standard.

Kemper System set to educate Ecobuild
Liquid waterproofing specialist Kemper Systemwill be exhibiting at Ecobuild for the first time this year (Stand S2016) as part of a strategic marketing communications drive to educate the marketplace about its eco-friendly and effective roofing solutions. The move follows the growing success of the company’s innovative Kemperol 2K-PUR solvent-free system, the first solvent-free wet-on-wet cold liquid water- proofing system available on the UK market. Based on an 80 per cent castor-oil formulation derived from sustainable sources, the liquid system also incorporates a flexible non-woven fleece manufactured using a 25 per cent recycled plastic bottle content. Offered with a 20 year warranty, the ground-breaking system offers exceptional, durable waterproofing, that bonds to almost any substrate to create a totally seamless, monolithic, U/V stable, elastomeric membrane that cannot delaminate. Kemperol 2K-PUR offers an effective solution for both new builds and refurbishment projects. As it is solvent and fume- free there is no need to evacuate occupied buildings, allowing work to continue without disruption. The waterproofing system can be applied on top of most existing roofing material – so can even help to prevent excessive waste being sent to landfill. Kemper System’s stand will offer visitors an opportunity to watch video demonstrations of how the system is applied and see the results on recent high profile projects including London’s Guildhall. There will also be a number of display areas where visitors to the stand will be able to view samples.
