Te first thing I noticed about the Cougar Half Ton 31 SQB when I walked into it, is that it immediately felt like home. Actually, it felt better than home. At home there’s an endless ‘honey do’ list. Tat’s one of the things I love best about RV’ing. Hook up the trailer and drive away from the yard work, minor repairs, cleaning and paperwork. Don’t get me wrong, my life’s pretty good but right away I can tell that life in this Cougar would be better. Choosing the right RV can be challenging for most of
us. We’re seeking that perfect versatile design that meets our needs and wants, not just for today but for years to come. For many of us, that design is found in the Cougar Half Ton series, also known as their ‘half-ton’ series. I started to mentally enter vacation mode right there in
the showroom. At 35’5” I was looking at the largest in this series (which can sleep 9 people) and yet it was still under 8,000 lbs. It had the Cougar Polar Plus Package means these
trailers are rated to -18 degree. Stepping into the Cougar’s main living area, the big slide out gives you a very spacious, residential feeling. Te well appointed chef’s kitchen has what I consider to be the ‘necessary luxuries’; 3 burner stove, oven, separate fridge/ freezer, double sink, plenty of easily accessible cupboard space plus a good sized pantry. Te quality you don’t see right away is in the real cherry wood cabinetry, deep sinks and full depth residential drawer glides. I’m an early riser, as in up at 4:30 am. I don’t need an alarm
clock, it’s just when I wake up. Now you’re either nodding in agreement because you are the same, or you’re horrified and pity my poor wife who loves to sleep in until 9 or 10am. Marriages like ours survive on proper home design, and in this case a well designed RV. Te outdoor kitchen lets the early risers get out and get the
