WASHINGTON STATE PARKS
Washington offers more than 70 state parks that accommodate RVers (57 with full or partial hook-ups). Washington state parks feature some of the most spectacular natural places any state has to offer. Enjoy sweeping vistas of mountain ranges, beautiful seascapes and destinations for a romantic getaway or fun-filled family weekend.
Recreational opportunities include: Windsurf from Maryhill, Spring Creek Hatchery or Doug’s Beach state parks on the Columbia River. Hike through ancient old-growth
forest at Federation Forest State Park. Canoe or kayak the Cascadia Marine Trail that stretches south from Hope Island State Park near Olympia to San Juan Islands parks and north to Canada. Enjoy serenity on Pacific Ocean
beaches at Grays Harbor, Ocean City and Cape Disappointment state parks. Learn about Washington’s past in historic reenactments at Fort Simcoe State Park. Visit sites along the Lewis and
Clark Trail – Sacajawea, Beacon Rock, Cape Disappointment state parks. Visit historic military defense forts in Fort Casey, Fort Ebey, Fort Flagler and Fort Worden state parks. Bicycle, ride a horse or hike and camp along the Iron Horse State Park John Wayne Pioneer Trail. Looking for some history?
Many interpretive activities and heritage areas are available statewide. Lighthouses in several state parks still stand proud on Puget Sound and Pacific Ocean coastlines. Wildlife viewing opportunities
also abound on land, sea and in the air. Enjoy whale watching in the San
Pearrygin Lake State Park
Juan Islands or see bald eagles on the upper Skagit River. Learn about nature and geologic events such as the Ice Age floods in interpretive centers at Gingko Petrified Forest and Sun Lakes-Dry Falls state parks.
