m“The point is to be focused on aking the best of everything. Skype has become very popular

because it allows you to make free phone calls to practically anywhere in the world. Go to www.skype.com to download their application. Whoever you wish to talk to must do the same. You’d love the option to make video calls. It sounds too good to be true that it is free, but it is! Skip the expensive movie – video call someone you miss! Studying a new language is like calis-

thenics for your brain (go away demen- tia!). Rosetta Stone can get pricey. Check out www.BBC.co.uk/languages and you can travel internationally more easily (or just have fun with a new language). They

offer basic language skills in Spanish, French, German, Italian, Greek, Portuguese and Chinese. At the least you get free entertainment learning a new lan- guage to surprise your friends or “old country” family. The point is to be focused on making

the best of everything. Instruct your brain to be on the lookout for money-saving solutions and you will find them every- where. Pick up that bottle of water and water your plant, then give that bottle to a kid who is raising money for camp. Dice the nuts that are getting stale and use them in cupcakes for flavoring. Take that old shawl and put fringes on them for a

new look. It’s getting creative rather than com-

plaining about something you can’t do much about, it’s accepting what is and looking for the positive that helps at a time like this. It’s about growing wiser!
