1st annual KidFest a Huge Success!

“I had a great time at your event. It seemed well advertised and attended so I thank you for doing your part.” Teresa Martin – State Farm Insurance

Center throughout the day for the First Annual Out & About Magazine KidFest. benefiting Rebekah Children’s Services, KidFest provided something for everyone. Parents enjoyed resources from over seventy vendors selling mer- chandise and promoting their services for summer camp programs, education, kid’s health issues, art classes, clubs and organizations and much more. Both the resource and retail vendors were ecstat- ic about the attendance and said the event over exceeded their expectations. As a special attraction of the event,

A

Operation Kidsafe was also on hand to provide fingerprinting and photo safety services. They fingerprinted over four hundred-fifty kids throughout the day and deemed the event a huge success. While the parents learned more

about resources for their children, the kids enjoyed a full day of games, crafts, prizes, a petting zoo and a ride on motorized zoo animals. The Music Tree sponsored the Kids’ Stag, which boast- ed kids entertainment and demonstra- tions. Even with seating for a hundred people, the Kids’ Stage was usually standing room only. Let’s Party Salinas sponsored all the carnival games and Rebekah Children’s Services managed the Kids’ Activity Area with many crafts ranging from spin art to make- your-own shamrock ornaments. There were so many great raffle

prizes that we handed out at least twen- ty prizes each hour with the grand prize a Specialized Hotrock 21-speed kid’s bike. Raffle items included two-way
